Three NEW Girlfriend Retreat Themes!

Our girlfriends...can't live without 'em! Sometimes a message chat, call or email just won't do... so, pack your bags and meet for a Girlfriend's Retreat!
These themes have elements that have to be worked out months in advance and for no more than ten ladies, to be effective....Which one would you try?:

1) A Read Away

As a group, have your girlfriends pick and read a novel before meeting for the retreat. Then assign everyone a character from the novel before they leave home.  Give them options:
  • Cook a recipe, while on retreat, that your character would prepare.
  • Come dressed as your assigned character.
  • Use your character's speech pattern during the retreat.
  • Write and perform a soliloquy based on tension your character presents.
  • Write your character's obituary.
It'll be interesting and FUN, to see the novel come to life in front of you and your girlfriends!
Approx. time for retreat= 1week to 10 days

2) Meet My Mentoree

This retreat is for girlfriends mentoring a young lady!
Come together for some fun and family bonding time. Agenda events could include theatre nights, spa, shopping, and roundtables (pick discussion topics in advance)
Cook, eat, laugh, sleep, run, and play!
Approx. time for retreat= 3 days

3) 120 hour Craft-A- Thon

Months in advance, send a survey out to the retreat invitees and ask, "What craft would you like to teach?" Ask them to prepare enough kits for the girlfriends that will be attending the retreat! 10 girlfriends=10 craft kits. Individuals will be responsible for all the "bells and whistles" that go along with their teaching presentation.
Surely, that's going to be a Crafty, good time! It'll be so much fun to learn something new and share something dear to your heart!
Approx. time for retreat= 1 week

There's a time to work....and a Girlfriend's Retreat is a time to play! Make unforgettable memories on these retreats- bond and cement friendships..By the way, Who's got the Handycam?

Increasing sales means connecting to the public!

August 25, 2012
Mix and mingle with the public, on your down time to make sales go sky HIGH!

1) By donating your product to online auctions, you give the public a chance to see and own your product, up close and personal, without purchasing it. You increase visibility and chatter about your business!

2) Come into the community with music, food, loudspeaker and give out samples and discount coupons!

3) Hold contests and offer your product as the prize. Don’t forget to include your marketing materials!

4) Implement classes and programs in the general area of your business. For example, you own a Auto Parts store. Teach a hands-on class entitled,”How to Change a tire.” You could invite an expert in to talk about car insurance options!

5) Give incentives to your employees for volunteering at local hospitals, nursing homes and food pantries. Put them in caps and t-shirts with your company name and logo on them. It’s a win-win-win situation!

BE VISIBLE, connecting to the public, and get sales above and beyond your competition!

Light the path this easy way!

One way I network about my business, is to hand out flyers. They have the promotion of the week and my contact information on them. I was wondering, what if you use the same marketing tactic and hand out useful bits of information as you walk along, running your errands! Included in this endeavor could be helpful words of encouragement, health tip sheets, locations of different public services, etc. It's a way of being a bright spot...a LIGHT!(with a tiny bit of effort).

During the day, a person would look at your handout and be informed and/or revitalized. We all have access to a computer and copy machine. Mass produce your positive words, sayings, info and safely pass it on to your neighbor. You may help someone to "hold on" just in time!

Will you try to do this? Let us know about your experiences in the comments below.
Thank-you and have a nice day!

n.y.c. 5th ave.

that learning floor had sooo many cracks-
although it was rusty, archaic...
I kept my balance, good
'till one day I fell~

down I tumbled
passing by
dry bones
absence
blood
dead eyes...
empty arms

then, ahh... I bumped my head on
Oman,
Ghana and Brooklyn...

and well, ever since then, it's been green pastures and blue skies......

Customer service makes or breaks a small business!

Always make your customers feel special...they're your lifeline! Do you operate a retail store? ALWAYS REMEMBER TO:

1) Greet your customers as they enter your establishment. Nice and easy; don't jump all over them as they make their way inside.

2) Know that the customer is always right about their desires. Only give suggestions when they ask you for them!

3) Have multiple ways for customers to pay! Take cash, credit cards, Paypal, etc. Research innovative options for paying for items and services in your store.

4) Give out samples and /or useful free information, that will make your customers' lives easier!

5) Be honest and truthful with your customers. Never push a more expensive item, that's out of stock, when you have a lower-priced item available on your shelf. By being honest and caring, you'll build trust and keep a customer for life!

Retail operators have a lot of competition. Stand out from the crowd; EXHIBIT TOP SHELF CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Some beautiful jazz piano for YOU~ ENJOY!!!!!!!

Is it fair that music and movies get blamed for the way kids act today?

Children should be able to get the basics on socially accepted behavior from the home environment and /or other responsible adults in their lives.

Children without guidance will always pick up on the negative in the images they see (in movies, the world at large) and imitate it.

Children with guidance can ask questions and be "set straight" about the images they see in movies and the words they hear in today's music.

CHILDREN NEED TO BE LEAD THROUGH.

It is not fair that we blame today's music and movies for children's wayward behavior.

Do you agree? Leave your helpful comments below and Have a nice day!

Take a ticket...and tell us about yourself!

If you don't have a washer and dryer in your home, you're in your neighborhood laundromat at least two times a week; nine out of ten of us frequent the beauty parlor, barber shop several times a month. It all adds up to a lot of time that could be used to do some networking!

While you're waiting in these different settings, ie barber, laundromat, etc., stand-up and let people know who you are and what you do. By introducing yourself, you'll give someone else permission to do the same. Before you know it, ideas and plans for a prosperous way are being exchanged. You never know what could happen. Your future business partner could be in the next chair!

Always have your contact information handy. The barber shop, beauty parlor, laundromat, etc., is a free meeting place, readily available- all you have to do is step in the door! So STAND and tell IT, loudly (because you're up against the roar of the washer and dryer) *smiles*
