Blessed in all of this.

In the middle of the night, I woke up with this scripture on my mind:

Roman 8:28 "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."

Sometimes things and events play out so hard and cold in our lives, we can't see how it could ever be for our good....

I walked away from my job as a New York City Train Conductor in 2002. After eight years of a relentless, tortuous mess of a job, co-workers and atmosphere, Father God said, "Let's go". I left with no other apparent means of income and was met with puzzling looks from a suspicious Dad and a worried son. The decision to leave that job played out in some very precarious situations, from a stay with a deceitful relative to time in a homeless shelter.

I've learned a lot of VERY IMPORTANT THINGS I would have NEVER learned, had I'd stayed and retired with New York City Transit. The strong and courageous woman that smiles back at me in the mirror every morning, would never have been "born." Giving up that job was devastating, but I'm yet to know and reap the GOLD, as a result of calling out sick and never returning to work as a train conductor.

Believe scripture. If you struggle with putting your whole heart into trusting the Word...pray and ask Father to help you. Amen
