First Row, Center Seat,everyday!

You're sitting in your  favorite movie theatre, lights down low; a popular flick is up on the screen, buttered popcorn and a drink are by your side. To the right is your spouse and kids...but where is everybody else? You have the place to yourself because your favorite movie theatre is your HOME!

Home theatres are gaining popularity again as families are nesting (coming "in" to entertain one another). There are sizes and budgets to fit every pocketbook! Here are a few tips to help you design your home theatre space:
1)"A length 1.5 times the width is a good starting point to create a space and soft surfaces are a must for sound purposes." Look carefully at spare rooms and furnished basements.

2) Enlist the aid of an audio consultant to configure DOLBY according to movie industry standards.

3) Where do you like to sit in your neighborhood movie theatre? If you like the front, place your seat in your home theatre close to the screen. Do you like the middle? Place your seat right in the middle of the room.

4) Keep colors dark and ideally, the room should be windowless.

5)Go ahead and put up those movie theatre curtains and wall sconces. Movie posters are also a nice touch, just post them at the rear.

At one time it was only the very wealthy that could afford home theatres, "but anyone, even you, can have a private in-home movie theatre with a giant, high definition projector screen, sound you can feel in your chest, a few rows of big, comfy chairs, and maybe even a fiber-optic star ceiling."

Seems like a good idea  for promoting family good times, comfortability and (smiles) traveling time to the theatre is cut tremendously! Would you ever consider doing an expansion to accommodate a  home theatre? Do you already have one? Pros? Cons? Please leave your helpful comments below, Thank-you!
